Fire companies from Carbon and Monroe counties battled a fast moving fire overnight in Towamensing Township. The fire was reported just before 2:30 a.m. as a working dwelling fire at 6855 Interchange Road, Route 209. Area fire police maintained traffic control shutting down the roadway between Forest Inn Road and Homestead Lane. No injuries were reported in the incident. A state police fire marshal is on scene.
