Most area state park beaches will be open for swimming beginning Saturday, including Locust Lake State Park’s beach, shown here. Park officials said the beaches at Tuscarora State Park, also in Barnesville, and Beltzville State Park, near Lehighton, also will reopen Saturday. Openings are pending the results of water samples, which are taken frequently. Visitors to Beltzville are advised that the day use area of the park will close once parking is filled, and walk-in visitors will be prohibited at that point. Visitors to all parks are reminded that alcoholic beverages are not allowed, swimming is only permitted in designated area and music/noise should be kept to a minimum. JILL WHALEN/TIMES NEWS
