May 11, 2011 - Host Tamaqua collects 24 medals - including 11 gold - at the annual Schuylkill League Track and Field Championships. Zack Lakitsky and Kayla Hope both capture two individual events and participate on a winning relay team. Lakitsky breaks the tape in the 100 and 200, while Hope claims the long jump and triple jump. The Blue Raiders, coached by Tom Kanger, also receive firsts from Taylor Gerber (300 hurdles), Christine Streisel (javelin), Eric Hertzog (110 hurdles), Josh Turner (discus), both 400 relays and the girls 3200 relay. Jim Thorpe’s Ashley Nicola adds another area gold by winning the 200.
