May 10, 1962 - George Neyer turns in an outstanding pitching performance while John Zubek excels at the plate to help lift Lansford to a convincing 13-1 Hughie McGeehan League victory over Foster Township. Neyer tosses all seven innings, allowing just three hits while striking out eight. Zubek finishes 4-for-5 with a triple, a run and three RBIs. The Panthers, coached by Dick Forster, jump out to an early lead with a four-run first inning and finish strong by plating five runs in the seventh. Neyer helps his cause with two hits and a run, while Ed Kosciolek and Dennis Cipko both contribute a hit and two RBIs. The winners also receive a hit, two runs and an RBI from Bobby Gelatko.
