A 33-year-old Freeland man was committed to the Luzerne County Prison, Wilkes-Barre, of a charge of theft of a motor vehicle after police were called at 9:57 a.m. April 29 to a property on Maplewood Drive in Hazleton.

State Police at Hazleton said they were summoned to a report of a suspicious man walking aimlessly on a property and through their investigation determined that earlier while at his place of employment the Freeland man stole a co-worker’s 2018 Chevrolet Cobalt. The car owner is a 24-year-old man from Weatherly who had the recovered vehicle released to him, police said.
