Monroe incidents

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:

• The driver of a 2017 Hyundai Tucson that crashed off Route 115 at 8:57 a.m. April 19 in Hamilton Township was uninjured.

Police said the woman told them she was traveling on Route 33 southbound and had utilized the exit ramp for Saylorsburg with intentions of making a left turn onto Route 115. She said she did not realize there was an oncoming commercial vehicle that was in her blind spot, and after accelerating the vehicle, it traveled across Route 115 and struck a mailbox on the property of 679 Route 115. The vehicle had minor damages, police said.

• Stephen V. Greene, 70, of Stroudsburg was cited for “stop signs and yield signs” after a two-vehicle mishap at 4:44 p.m. April 12 at the intersection of Route 115 and Cherry Valley Road in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2021 BMW when he attempted to make a left turn onto Route 115 without proper clearance and the car was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven north by Henry C. Lillman, 53, of Effort.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police said Greene declined emergency medical services treatment at the scene but later went to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, to seek treatment for minor injuries.
