The mile relay team of Jack Daukshus, Lou Stisowain, Lafay Hope and Walter Haggerty finishes in 3:47.1 to take the race and give the Blue Raiders a come-from-behind win. Tony Fredicine sprints to victory in the 100, while Tamaqua also gets individual firsts from Gordon Kistler (shot put), Earl Hinkle (discus) and Tony McGroarty (javelin). The Indians receive a pair of wins from Marv Eidem and Roy Semmel, with Semmel also breaking a stadium record in the pole vault by clearing 11-3 1/2.
