Northampton Co. inmates charged in drug case

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Vice Unit, along with the Northampton County Drug Task Force, has announced the arrest of Jessica Esmeralda Morales, Timothy Oliver Barr and Altajier Kyell Robinson involving drug operations at the county prison in Easton.

Police said earlier this month, they learned Barr, an inmate at the jail, had a cellphone smuggled to him by an employee at the prison and was communicating with people outside the prison and discussing how he was selling methamphetamine from jail.

It was determined the drugs were smuggled into the prison by Morales, a medical assistant who is contracted to provide health care for inmates.

Police searched Barr and Robinson’s jail cell, correctional officers discovered both an Apple iPhone 10 and approximately 68 grams of methamphetamine.

Barr is charged with four felony counts, including manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture drugs (two counts), possession of a controlled substance, contraband/inmate, and criminal use of a communications facility. He is also facing two misdemeanor charges of possession of contraband, telecommunications device, and possession of a controlled substance by person not registered.

Robinson is facing three felony counts, including manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture, conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess drugs with intent to manufacture, and possession of a controlled substance, contraband/inmate, and two misdemeanor charges of possession of contraband/telecommunications device and possession of a controlled substance by person not registered.

Morales is facing two felony counts, including manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture and contraband/controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of contraband/telecommunications device.

Police said Morales was arraigned in District Court 03-2-06 and jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
