A home was damaged by fire Tuesday night in West Penn Township. The alarm came in just after 11 p.m. as a chimney fire at 238 School Road.

West Penn police were first on scene, reporting smoke showing, upgrading the incident as a working dwelling fire.

Additional fire companies were dispatched from Schuylkill, Carbon and Lehigh counties. Firefighters found the fire had spread to the attic walls and roof of the vintage farm house.
