The Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company will hold its fourth annual basket raffle Friday and Saturday.

The two-day fundraiser will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, with the drawing to take place on Saturday.

You do not need to be present to win, and can watch the drawing live on Facebook on the Fire Company’s page, https://www.facebook.com/AquashicolaFireCo/.

Tickets are $5 per sheet of 25 tickets plus a door prize ticket, or spend $20 and receive an extra sheet for free (five sheets for $20).

There will be food trucks on site both days. Vince’s Cheesesteaks will serve from 2-7 p.m. Friday, and Stagger Lee’s Grille will have a smoker on-site starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

A portion of proceeds will also go back to the fire department.

There are more than 200 prizes to win, including Apple AirPods, an inflatable kayak, a Pelican cooler, patio furniture, lottery tickets, gift cards, and even cash. There are prizes for all ages and for both men and women.

Meredith Koons, basket raffle coordinator, said they would like to thank all the local businesses and patrons who donated.

“We recognize that our local businesses are asked to donate to various fundraisers throughout the year, so even if you don’t win, we want to remind everyone to support our small businesses who are the ones who give back to our community time and again,” Koons said. “We thank them for donating as well as the individual donors who provided some really wonderful prizes. It truly takes a village to pull this off.”

Koons said the fire department recently purchased a new tank truck. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward this purchase as well as help with general operating costs.
