Franklin Township Supervisors

Franklin Township Supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:

• Agreed to send a letter of support for the Wildlands Conservancy Department of Conservation and Natural Resource grant application to secure funding to support land preservation in the Upper Lehigh Watershed work in Carbon County.

• Approved the letter of request for a 90-day extension to give additional time needed to address the conditional approval items needed for the David & Irene Williams lot line revision subdivision.

• Approved two road crew employees to attend a free two-day dirt & gravel low volume road training retroactive to April 2 and April 3.

• Approved the road crew to attend the MS4 training for municipal administrators and laborers from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lehighton Borough Office.

• Approved three road crew employees to attend a Pennsylvania One Call Safety Day Conference in Wilkes-Barre from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16.

• Granted approval for the use of the second pond at the Phifer’s Ice Dam for the Pohopoco Rod & Gun Club’s fishing event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11.

• Agreed to receive bids for various road materials to be opened at the board’s May 16 meeting.

• Reminded that the stocked pond located at the Phifer’s Ice Dam Park will be closed to anyone older than 15 years old beginning May 3 at midnight and remain closed until June 1 at midnight.
