Carbon plans dog adoption meeting area

Carbon County is moving forward on creating a meet and greet building for prospective adopters to spend some time with adoptable dogs.

Last week, the commissioners approved a quote from Kutz Structures LLC of Pine Grove for a cottage to be used at the Carbon County Animal Shelter at a cost of $10,485. Carbon received a $10,000 donation in January from Melodie A. Jainnini of Nesquehoning for the purpose of creating this meet and greet space.

The commissioners said that the order will take approximately six to eight weeks before it is ready to be installed at the shelter, located on the Broad Mountain in Nesquehoning.
