State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• A 5-year-old girl from Mahanoy City was involved in a crash at 6:26 p.m. March 22 on Fairview Street in Rush Township.

Police said she was evaluated at the scene by personnel from the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association and transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale.

Police said she was a passenger in a 2020 Subaru driven by Tiffany S. Blashock, 34, of Mahanoy City, that “rear-ended” a 1995 Honda whose driver attempted to stop at a traffic light. The Subaru was towed from the scene.

• Two vehicles were damaged in a sideswiping crash at 7:51 a.m. April 4 on Valley Street (Route 209) in Blythe Township. Police said a 2022 Toyota RAV4 driven by Brock R. Herb, 35, of New Philadelphia, and a 2016 Dodge Caravan operated by Nathaniel K. Zeigler, 20, of New Ringgold were involved. Police said both vehicles sustained heavy damages. No injuries were reported.

• Cristian F. Aybar-Smith, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 6:35 p.m. April 4 on Interstate 81 in Cass Township. Police said he was driving a 2008 Lexus northbound when it exited the south side of the road striking brush and trees. The vehicle came to rest on the south side of the road and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

• Darrin A. Bartholomew, 55, of Shamokin, was cited after a crash at 8:55 a.m. April 5 on Prison Road in Ryan Township.

Police said he was driving a 2005 Mack Truck eastbound and began backing up and hit a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by Martha M. Zammatore, 77, of Bethlehem. Police said the truck had minor damages while the Elantra had heavy damages and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

• Dakota J. Paisley, 27, of Tamaqua, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 5:06 p.m. Monday on Cold Run Road in East Brunswick Township. Police said he was driving a 1998 Subaru Outback northbound and lost control of the vehicle on a curve in the road.

The vehicle began to drift across the road and continued to “fishtail” as it slid into a concrete barrier on the right side of the road.

Police said the car then spun 180 degrees and came to rest in the northbound lane of travel. It sustained heavy damages and had to be towed from the scene.
