Lehigh Valley crashes

State police in Bethlehem reported on the following crashes.

• A two-vehicle crash occurred at 3:24 p.m. March 6 on Main Street (Route 309) in North Whitehall Township. Police said a 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan and a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze were northbound when the Cruze was struck from behind by the Tiguan. Police said both cars were damaged. No injuries were reported.

• Two vehicles were damaged in a crash at 11:38 a.m. March 9 at the intersection of Mauch Chunk Road and Maple Street in North Whitehall Township. Police said a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban traveling north stopped for heavy traffic when it was struck from behind by a 2001 Mitsubishi. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. Police said the driver of the Mitsubishi was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed. No injuries were reported.

• Ali M. Shahzad, 21, of Northampton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:51 p.m. March 14 on Willowbrook Road in Allen Township. She was transported by personnel from the Northampton Regional Emergency Medical Services corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.

Police said she was driving a 2007 Mazda 3 northbound when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The pole was severed and its upper portion came to rest on the windshield of the vehicle. Shahzad, who was not wearing a seat belt, had to be freed from the wrecked vehicle by mechanical means. The car was towed from the scene. Police said she was cited for driving without a license.

Other crashes

• An Effort woman was involved in a two-vehicle crash at 7:49 a.m. March 26 on Route 33 in Stockertown. State police at the Belfast barracks said she was driving a 2019 Honda Accord and had slowed down for traffic when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse operated by Andrew A. Ferrigno, 32, of Pen Argyl.

• Debra D. Geiger, 69, of Lake Ariel, was cited by state police at Belfast for failure to drive at a safe speed after a three-vehicle crash at 1 p.m. April 3 on Route 33 in Plainfield Township. Police said she was driving a 2023 Kia Sportage that collided with the rear of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by Kaya F. Quinones, 21, of Saylorsburg, that had stopped for traffic ahead of it. The impact pushed the Elantra into a 2009 Nissan Murano that was operated by Dean P. Arthur, 21, of Kunkletown.

Police said Quinones was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. Geiger and Arthur were uninjured.
