Stanko strikes out the first four batters he faces and finishes the game with eight punchouts and no walks. The Panthers give their pitcher the only runs he would need in the fourth inning when Dan Wehr singles, Paul Potichko walks and the two move up on a passed ball. Ed Shubeck delivers an RBI single, and Dave Bonner follows with a squeeze bunt to bring home another run. Shubeck ends the contest with two hits.
