The Pleasant Valley School Board approved hiring a new counselor for the high school on Thursday night.

Kaylee Wilson was selected to replace Erin Steiner, who resigned in March. Wilson will begin her work with the school district at Step 1 with a salary of $56,842. Her employment starts Aug. 21.

• Position volunteers: Justin DeLeon, April Getz, Nicole Ruehle, Priscilla Rainho, Michael Competiello, Katherine Christman, Lindsay Dudzick, Kalimah Hardy, Caressa Fetherman, Julie Holck, Jenna Klingle and Rene Nagle;

• Resignations: Elizabeth Hardy, food service employee, PVES;

• Supplemental contracts: nonathletic, Nicole Composto, adviser; Academic Remediation, Saturday Detention, PVMS, $23 per hour.
