TOPS meets

The Kresgeville site for TOPS is Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Pizza orders due

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effort, is having a pizza fundraiser on April 12. The church will be making 12-inch pies and orders can be called into the church at 570-629-4309.

Leave a message saying how many and include your name and number in case of questions.

Folks can pick up and pay cash only between 4 and 5 p.m. Orders must be called in by Sunday, April 7.

Queen of Peace

Our Lady Queen of Peace offers an 8 a.m. Mass every day this week. The Junior Choir will be part of it on Sunday.

The final Lenten dinner/presentation will be today. The Resurrection of Jesus will be the reflection.

On April 8 a Confirmation Mass will be held at 4:30 p.m.

Donations sought

The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is requesting donations of cereal, tomato sauce, cake mix, coffee and tea for its food pantry; gloves and mittens for children and adults, blankets, comforters and bed sheets for its Clothing Closet; and baby formula and baby food (unopened and unexpired), and adult sized pull-ups and bed pads for its Diaper Pantry as per Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville.

Animals up close

The public is invited to an evening with Pocono Wildlife Rehab as workers/volunteers bring live animals to Kettle Creek. Attendees are invited to discover the ways reptiles, birds and mammals survive and thrive in their natural habitats.

There is a minimal per person cost, but additional donations are welcome. For more information, call the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center at 570-629-3061, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The facility is located at 6050 Running Valley Road, Stroudsburg.

PVA busy days

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, has two events on Saturday: Brotherhood at 9 a.m. and Bridge Ministry at 11 a.m.

On Sunday, following the 11 a.m. worship service, it is time for prayer and fellowship.

Ministry Outreach

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, will be going to minister to the homeless in Stroudsburg on Saturday.

Items needed are: nonperishable canned foods with peel-off lid, hygiene supplies, backpacks, paper towels, utensils, used clothing-clean and in good shape, blankets and pillows.

West End Pantry

The West End Food Pantry has a distribution day from 9 a.m. to noon on the first and third Saturday. Volunteers are welcome to set up and clean up.

Mission auction

Effort UMC will hold its Mission Outreach Auction in the church’s Wesley Hall from 5 to 9 p.m. April 6.

PVP worship theme

The theme for Sunday services at Pleasant Valley Presbyterian for the month of April at 10 a.m. is “The Church Marches On.”

This Sunday it is based on Unity, with Psalm 133 and John 20:19-31 as the foundation as presented by Interim Pastor Lori Phinney.

Divine Mercy

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday at 3 p.m. It will be a prayer service, with Eucharistic Adoration and Confessions.

Block shoot and more

The Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club is holding a block shoot and meat raffle on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. It is a 12-gauge shotgun only event. The club is at 122 Gun Club Lane Saylorsburg. The public is welcome. For more information call 610-381-3215.

Library Week

The Western Pocono Community Library is celebrating National Library Week from April 7 through April 13.

Staff invites folks to celebrate all week long.

WPCL’s spring Paint Party fundraiser is Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m.

Tickets are available at the WPCL Circulation Desk while supplies last. Snacks and nonalcoholic beverages are welcome. No tickets will be sold at the door.

PVEN needs list

According to Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, the current needs of the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network include: Cereal, pasta/tomato sauce, coffee tea, and canned vegetables in the food pantry portion.

Also needed, for the Clothing Closet compartment are: bras & sport bras (all sizes), blankets, comforters, sheets, body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, cleaning supplies, paper towels & laundry detergent; and for the Diaper Pantry: baby formula & baby food (unopened and unexpired), adult sized pull-ups and bladder pads.

Touch of Home

The next monthly meeting for Operation: Touch of Home is a regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the American Legion Post 927, Gilbert.

The West End Little League board of directors will meet at 7:30 p.m. April 7, at the Chestnuthill Township Park on Route 715, Brodheadsville.

The league meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. April 18, also at the Chestnuthill Township Park on Route 715, Brodheadsville.
