April 2, 2001 - Chris Freed turns in an outstanding effort on the mound to lead Northern Lehigh to a 1-0 Colonial League victory over Bangor. Freed pitches a four-hit shutout, walks none and strikes out 10. The contest is scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when Joe Marcucci delivers an RBI double. Marcucci finishes with three of his team’s five hits, two of them doubles. The Bulldogs, coached by Frank Carazo, also receive a pair of hits off the bat of A.J. Satino.
