Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their meeting last week:

• Approved a revision request for Lehighton’s Community Development Block Grant program 2019 that moves $14,710.40 from the senior center roof project to the clearance and demolition of 135-139 N. First St. to spend the funds in a more timely manner.

• Approve an agreement for the use of Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company in Lehighton on June 25 for a Senior Workshop, hosted by Link.

• Approved an agreement with Service Access and Management Inc. of Reading to provide fiscal consulting services to Carbon County Children and Youth Services from March 25 through May 31. Fees are $15,000 for March 25-April 30 and $15,000 for May with further negotiation to extend the terms on a more permanent basis.

Personnel

• Prison board appointments: Christian J. Archer of Nesquehoning, sergeant; Brian S. Minzola of Hazleton and Brandon M. Tayoun of Auburn, corrections officers, all effective March 25.

• Hire: Sherry K. McHugh of Jim Thorpe, legal secretary III, public defender, effective March 27.

• Court resignation: Necarlly F. Serrata of Weatherly, probation officer I, adult probation, effective April 1.

• Clerk of courts appointment: Sarah M. Reyes of Jim Thorpe, deputy clerk, effective March 25.

• Prothonotary resignation: Heather L. Williams of Beaver Meadows, second deputy, effective May 3.

• Sheriff resignation: Tyler J. Dietz of Lehighton, deputy sheriff, effective April 7.

• Change of status: Ryan V. Zaengle of Lansford, from special deputy sheriff trainee to deputy trainee, effective April 8.
