Lehighton woman faces charges after drug sales

A Lehighton woman faces multiple charges after a confidential informant purchased methamphetamine from her in January.

Colleen Ann Frable, of First Street, was arraigned on two counts each of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to deliver, conspiracy to possess a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess drug paraphernalia in two separate criminal complaints.

District Judge Eric M. Schantz in Jim Thorpe set bail at $1,000 in each case and Frable was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of bail.

According to court papers, a confidential informant arranged to buy drugs on two occasions in Nesquehoning, and Frable picked up the informant at pre-arranged locations.

The informant, who was given cash by the drug task force members and remained under their surveillance, returned with 3.62 grams of methamphetamine on Jan. 3, and 2.69 grams of methamphetamine on Jan. 10, court papers said.

The charges were filed by Nesquehoning Police Chief Michael G. Weaver. A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled April 3.
