March 21, 1956 - Lansford, which is set to begin its first-ever baseball season, is admitted into the McGeehan School Baseball League at a meeting at Hazleton High School. The Panthers are represented at the meeting by coach Dan Roskos. Other teams in the league that Lansford will be competing against include Hazleton, Freeland MMI, St. Gabriel’s of Hazleton, Berwick and West Hazleton. The league also adopts a rule at the meeting that Rawlings balls are the league’s official ball and must be used in all league contests.
