Dr. Dennis J. Bonner, Summit Hill physician, was honored as the 11th Shamrock Award during the 24th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner of the Panther Valley Irish-American Association held last night in the Lansford Elks home.

A practicing physician for 32 years, Dr. Bonner graduated from Summit Hill High School, where he captained the Hillers’ 1930 football team, and later donned the uniform of his country and served for four years during World War II.

In honoring Dr. “Dinny,” the PVIAA said as a parent, he raised a fine family of four, all of whom are attending college, and as a family doctor, he heeded the thousands of calls, day and night, to tend to the sick or injured of the Panther Valley.
