State police at Stroudsburg

State police at Stroudsburg reported the following:

• Police said they responded to a report of harassment at 8:13 p.m. Jan. 30 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township but the investigation determined no such incident occurred.

They said the report came from a third party complainant regarding a possible domestic dispute taking place in a Mercury vehicle.

• A 62-year-old Stroudsburg woman was harassed by communications at 9:27 p.m. Feb. 9 on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.

Police said their investigation determined a suspect used explicit language toward the woman multiple times over the course of a four-month period.

• Maxine Cooper, 58, of Stroudsburg, is facing a charge of criminal mischief after police were called at 8:39 a.m. March 1 to a property on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.

They said the victim is a 65-year-old woman from Springville, Utah, who told them she and Cooper were involved in an argument and alleged Cooper scratched her 2019 Dodge Ram truck.

• Police were summoned to counterfeit incident at 8 a.m. Feb. 7 at the Dollar General Store, 1698 Rachael Road, Hamilton Township.

Police said they were told an unidentified man used $200 in $20 counterfeit bills at the store.

• A 54-year-old East Stroudsburg man is facing retail theft (shoplifting) charges after police were called to the Giant store on Route 611, Hamilton Township, at 10:34 a.m. Feb. 27.

It is alleged he stole a soda and deli meat valued at $7.18.
