State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following:

• Police said a 2017 Ford Escape was damaged when it crashed in the parking lot of Kinsley’s ShopRite store in Chestnuthill Township at 2:46 p.m. March 8.

They said Maria G. Rodriguez, 64, of Effort, was driving the vehicle northbound in the lot when she attempted to park the vehicle. It struck and drove over the curb and came to a position of uncontrolled rest after striking the cement base of a light pole. Police said the cement base moved from its mooring and the light fixture of top of the pole was damaged.

The vehicle sustained disabling damages. Rodriguez was uninjured, police said.

• James J. Anthony, 58, of Saylorsburg, was cited after an incident at 11:35 a.m. Feb. 17 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Ford F450 northbound when he lost control of it while negotiating a right curve in the road. It struck a 2019 GMC Sierra driven by Alfred W. Cosgrove Jr., 62, also of Saylorsburg, which was stationary in the right lane after Cosgrove observed another crash.

Neither driver was injured. Police said the F450 was towed from the scene.

• Johnny M. Santana, 29, of Brodheadsville, was cited after a head-on crash at 2:50 p.m. March 8 at the intersection of Route 115 and Switzgabel Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Hyundai Palisade northbound on Route 115 when he attempted to turn into the Pleasant Valley High School driveway and struck a 2016 Jeep Patriot driven by William K. Vaughn, 50, of Saylorsburg.

Police said both vehicles had disabling damages. The Hyundai was driven from the scene while the Patriot was towed.

Neither driver, nor an 8-year-old boy from Saylorsburg who was a passenger with Vaughn, were injured.

• Police investigated a crash at 10:03 a.m. March 3 at the intersection of Neola and Neola Church roads in Jackson Township. No one was injured.

It happened when the driver of a 2010 Subaru Legacy backed from a driveway onto Neola Road and was struck from behind by a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta that was southbound and approaching the intersection.

Police said the Legacy was able to be driven from the scene while the Jetta was towed.

• Kaylee K. Clark, 20, of New Ringgold, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a two-vehicle crash at 6:39 p.m. Feb. 25 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala that struck a 1994 Mercury driven by John C. Ehrhard Jr., 55, of Dunmore.

No one was injured in the incident.
