Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following personnel matters on Monday:

Retirement resignations

• David Carroll, Northern Lehigh Band Director and music teacher, Northern Lehigh Middle School, effective the end of the last working day for the 2023-2024 school year, after 28 years of service.

• Timothy Weaber, Essential Skills, Bulldog Academy, and Teacher of the gifted, Northern Lehigh Middle School, effective the end of the working day on Sept. 16, after 28 years of service.

• Kathy Reese, administrative assistant, Peters Elementary School, effective the end of the working day on June 12, after over 21 years of service.

• Julie Everett, biology teacher, Northern Lehigh High School, effective the end of the working day for the 2023-2024 school year, after 34 years of service.

• Deanna Quay, chemistry teacher, Northern Lehigh High School, effective the end of the last working day for the 2023-2024 school year, after 18 years of service.

• Gail Lafferty, intervention coordinator/gifted support teacher, Slatington Elementary School, effective the end of the last working day for the 2023-2024 school year, after over 38 years of service.

Resignations

• Deborah Smith, cook’s helper, Northern Lehigh High School, effective at the end of the work day on Feb. 23.

• Jessica Walters, paraprofessional, Slatington Elementary School, effective at the end of the work day on Feb. 23.

• Megan Rex, ELDP paraprofessional, effective at the end of the work day on March 22.

• Crystal Schaller, paraprofessional, Northern Lehigh High School, effective at the end of the work day on March 22.

• Janna Seip, paraprofessional, Peters Elementary office, effective at the end of the work day on May 3.

Rescind appointments

• Deborah Smith, cook’s helper, that was approved at the Feb. 12 school board meeting.

• Rose McDaniel, cook’s helper, that was approved at the Feb. 12 school board meeting.

Appointments

• Cole Hankee, custodian second shift, $17.20 an hour, effective March 12.

• Crystal Schaller, cook’s helper, $14 an hour, effective March 25.

• Janna Seip, administrative assistant, at a salary of $35,750, effective May 6.

Co-curricular appointments

• Maria Schaffer, middle school Aevidum, $542 (prorated).

Co-curricular adjustment

• Nicole Nightlinger, middle school Aevidum Club adviser, from a rate of $1,500 to $958 for duties performed from Aug. 28, 2023 through her resignation date of Feb. 15.

Bus drivers/aides

• Daniel Grayson and Mary Kuklinski, bus drivers and aides from Krise Transportation to transport Northern Lehigh School District students for the 2023-2024 school year.

Salary increases

• Dawn Nagy, $23.31 an hour, for performing head cook duties effective on Feb. 21, and terminating on March 1.

• Kristin Garrison, $23.31 per hour, for performing head cook duties effective March 4, and terminating on or about March 8 or upon return of employee on an approved medical leave of absence.

Vacant positions

• Approved Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link to appoint qualified personnel to vacant positions during the period of time from March 12 through the next regularly scheduled board meeting.
