Some PPL customers still without electricity

More than 5,000 PPL customers remain without power as of 9 a.m. Tuesday after high winds swept through the region Monday. More than 26,000 customers were affected Monday afternoon.

More than 2,100 of the customers without electricity are in Monroe County. Of those, 296 Chestnuthill residents are out and 196 are out in Polk. The biggest area affected is Barrett Township with 595.

In Carbon County 542 are without power, with the biggest outage in the Stagecoach Road area of Towamensing Township, with 459 customers out.

A handful of customers in Rush and West Penn townships of Schuylkill County are without power.
