More than 25,000 residents in the PPL service area are without power as of 3:30 p.m. Monday.

In Carbon County, more than 2,282 customers are without electricity, including 83 in East Penn Township, 56 in Kidder Township, 117 in Lower Towamensing Township, 380 in Mahoning Township, 270 in Jim Thorpe, 1,309 in Towamensing Township, 38 in Penn Forest Township and 2 in Packer Township.

In Lehigh County 392 customers are out, with 130 in Slatington and 1 in Washington Township; and just over 200 in Northampton County.

Monroe County has 9,673 customers without power, including 1,022 in Chestnuthill Township, one in Eldred and 601 in Polk Township.

In Schuylkill County about 1,516 customers are affected, including 144 in Tamaqua, 13 in Rush Township and 440 in West Penn Township.

High winds are expected to continue through the afternoon.
