Ss. Peter and Paul schedule

Saints Peter and Paul parish announces the following schedule:

• The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered on the Lord’s Day at Saints Peter and Paul Parish by the Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis, assisted by Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm, Jr., throughout the year on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 7:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. Daily masses are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8 a.m. The church is located at 260 North 3rd Street, Lehighton.

• The Eucharist is exposed for personal prayer every Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. We particularly need adorers between 5 and 7 p.m.

• We pray the Stations of the Cross on Wednesday afternoons in Lent at 12:05 p.m., except Wednesday of Holy Week at 6:30 p.m. Join us in reflecting on the saving Passion of Jesus.

Help available

• Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown is accepting appointments and walk-ins at the parish convent building every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Services include individual, marriage, and family counseling; pregnancy and parenting support (counseling, material assistance such as diapers, wipes, baby items); and supportive services (case management, material assistance, emergency rental assistance, referrals). • The parish Saint Vincent de Paul Society hosts “Vincent’s Closet” by appointment in the former convent building on 242 N. 3rd Street. The society offers clothing and toiletries for those in need and seeks donations of the same. Call the Rectory for more information.

Instruction

• The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly RCIA) includes instruction in the Faith for those interested in receiving the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church or for anyone interested in learning more about their faith. Wednesday evenings in the hall from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. No registration necessary.

• On Monday, the Diocese of Allentown will be holding an installment of its Lenten Retreat series at SSPP. Eucharistic Adoration and Confessions from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Presentation at 7:30 p.m. by Kristin Osenbach on “The Eucharist as Promise,” and refreshments at 8 p.m. in our parish hall. Free, but register on the Diocesan website.

Fish fry

Our Lenten Fish Fry is on Friday, March 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the parish hall. Meal includes fresh haddock, French fries, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, and a dessert. Purchase a ticket after weekend Masses or at the rectory during the week.
