State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following:

• Two elderly Hazleton residents were hurt in a crash at 6:26 p.m. Feb. 3 at the intersection of Route 309 and Mountain Road in Lynn Township.

Police said a 74-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man had serious bodily injuries.

As a result of the crash, a 41-year-old man from Pleasantville, New Jersey, is facing Title 75 miscellaneous and felony charges.

Police did not provide the details of the crash except to say the New Jersey man was driving an unlicensed and uninsured vehicle.

A 2013 Honda Civic and a 2008 Chevrolet were involved.

• Robert Salm, 70, of New Tripoli, was cited for following too closely after a crash at 4:35 p.m. Feb. 19 on the King’s Highway in Lynn Township.

Police said he was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer eastbound when it failed to stop in time for a vehicle that had stopped in front of him, striking the 2000 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Kim S. Lindsey, 62, of New Tripoli. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages.

Police said Salm was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. Lindsey was not injured.
