Man shot at Allentown birthday party

District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan has released information about the shooting death of 33-year-old Alburtis resident Miguel S. Dalmasi Saturday night in Allentown. The shooting occurred at

7:48 p.m. at South Dauphin Street and East Walnut Street.

The investigation is in the early stages and no warrants have been issued and no arrests have been made. Holihan said Dalmasi was present with his family at a birthday party for a relative; a 1-year-old child. A dispute between two groups of people appears to have started outside the party when one group that was

uninvited tried to gain entry into the party.

“The information we currently have indicates that one or more from the group seeking to enter the

party shot at Mr. Dalmasi outside the building, striking him more than once,” the district attorney’s office said in a release Sunday.

That group then fled, officials said.

Allentown EMS and Police arrived on scene quickly, but Dalmasi succumbed to his injuries. The

Lehigh County Coroner has ruled the manner of death homicide. It appears that no one else was struck by

the gunfire and there are no other reports of injuries.

The case is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Coroner’s

Office, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
