February 17, 1971 - Marian’s John Teprovich becomes the leading scorer in program history as the Colts roll to a 90-63 victory over Nativity. Teprovich pours in a game-high 24 points to put his career total at 966, passing the old mark of 962 established by Francis “Flip” Flaim. Teprovich, who also pulls down 11 rebounds, ties the record with a pair of free throws and then breaks it on a five-foot jumper off a feed from Joe Prekopa. Joe Balascik adds a double-double, finishing with 22 points and 11 boards, while Frank Yusella contributes 15 points and nine assists.
