Point in Time

Today and tomorrow are the days for the Monroe County Point In Time count days.

The Point In Time count is an annual process of locating and counting homeless people in this county (and is repeated in every county across the country). This is a specific opportunity to not only count, but also personally acknowledge people in our community who literally have no place to go. They may be living in a tent, in a doorway, or in their car (living in your car is also considered homeless), explains Tom Campbell, president of the board of directors PVEN Food Pantry and Clothing Closet.

Training was held last Thursday for volunteers.

Anyone knowing someone living in this situation could contact Leslie Perryman, Director of Crossroads Community Services and Street 2 Feet Outreach Center at 570-476-9228, Ext. 225.
