State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following:

• Timothy Miles, 33, of Mocksville, North Carolina, was charged with assault after police were called to a domestic dispute at 8:23 p.m. Jan. 18 at the intersection of Lower Nis Hollow Drive and Cherokee Lane in Mahoning Township.

Police said the 33-year-old Lehighton woman had minor injuries that did not require a response from emergency medical services personnel.

• Joseph Crawford, 22, of Freehold, New Jersey, was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, following his arrest on charges of theft from a motor vehicle.

A 29-year-old Morristown man told police Crawford broke into his Taurus vehicle between 8 and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at 1660 Blue Mountain Drive, Lower Towamensing Township, and stole a 9-mm pistol valued at $400.

Police said Crawford was taken into custody and charged.

• A 37-year-old Palmerton woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 2:03 a.m. Jan. 22.

They stopped her in a 2006 Nissan Murano for a Motor Vehicle Code violation at the intersection of South Fourth and Iron streets in Lehighton.
