Winter weather advisory in effect through Wednesday

Jim Thorpe Area School District is operating on a flexible instruction day and Weatherly has closed because of the icy forecast for today.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Mixed precipitation is expected, with freezing rain being the main hazard. Total snow accumulations of less than one inch and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch are possible.

The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
