Monroe County incidents

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported on the following:

• Eric S. Steidl, 18, of Long Pond, sustained suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:22 a.m. Dec. 12 on Interstate 380 in Coolbaugh Township. Police said he refused treatment by Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services personnel.

Police sad he was driving a 2011 Subaru Impreza northbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree, continuing to overturn about two times through a wooded area before coming to rest in an upright position.

Police said Steidl was able to exit the vehicle through the driver’s side front window.

He was cited for the crash.

• Gabriel Lian, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:41 a.m. Dec. 18 on Interstate 80 in Pocono Township.

Police said he was driving a 222 Tesla westbound and was overtaking a tractor trailer in the left-hand lane when the car began to hydroplane. It struck a concrete barrier and came to rest in the left travel lane, sustaining disabling damages that required towing from the scene.

Lian was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Skylar N. Ortt, 28, of Barto, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:33 a.m. Jan. 11 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek northbound when it drifted over the fog line and struck a guide rail and several posts, resulting in the front passenger side wheel of the vehicle being dislodged. The car came to rest on the right shoulder of the road against a guide rail.

Ortt was cited for the crash

• Robert W. Hatton, 59, of Stroudsburg, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 5:07 p.m. Jan. 11 on Rimrock Road in Hamilton Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2001 Toyota Avalon that entered the oncoming lane and struck a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ralph Vecchio, 86, of Stroudsburg.

Police said Hatton fled the scene after the mishap.

• Ethan M. Russell, 18, of Brooklyn, New York, was cited after a one-vehicle mishap at 8:54 p.m. Dec. 27 on Interstate 80 in Stroudsburg. He was uninjured.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Cruze westbound when it struck a concrete jersey barrier. The car sustained moderate damages, police said.

• Margaret E. Pruitt, 66, of Washington, New Jersey, was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 5:09 p.m. Dec. 17 p.m. on Independence Road in Smithfield Township. Four passengers were in the 2013 Ford Flex she was driving. No one was injured.

Police said the vehicle left the roadway and traveled about 50 yards on the grassy berm before sideswiping a tree.

She was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
