Crews are on the scene of water main break in Nesquehoning.

The break was reported early this morning near the corner of High Street and Mermon Avenue.

Water was observed rushing down the street following the break.

Nesquehoning Water Authority Facebook post state that there is temporary water loss in this area.

“Information will be provided as we are updated through this repair,” the authority states in a text alert to residents.

Anyone with questions or concerns should call the water authority office at 570-669-6124. Alerts are also posted on the Nesquehoning Borough Authority Facebook page.

A text-based alert system is also being created.

Residents wishing to receive alerts when problems arise in their area should contact the authority and provide their name and cellphone number.
