Boil water advisory lifted for Meadowcrest residents

The boil water advisory that had been in effect for Bowmanstown residents who live in Meadowcrest has been lifted.

On Friday morning, the borough posted on its Facebook page that the boil water advisory has been lifted, and the water was safe to drink.

The borough said Monday morning on its Facebook page that there was a water main break on the 700 block of Lime Street in Meadowcrest.

Tara Takerer, borough treasurer/assistant secretary, said the main had cracked in front of 747 Lime St. in Meadowcrest.

As a result, Takerer said homeowners in Meadowcrest were to boil their water.

Takerer said Tuesday they took consecutive water samplings; one the day of the leak after it’s repaired, and also did one Tuesday morning.
