Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following on Monday:
Policy
• The initial club/activity application for the Northern Lehigh High School Weightlifting Club. The Northern Lehigh Education Association recommended stipend for the adviser of this club, Mark Nicosia, is $200 beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Upon approval by the board, the approved stipend will be added to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• The initial club/activity application for the Northern Lehigh High School Crochet Club. The Northern Lehigh Education Association recommended stipend for the advisers of this club, Lisa Martinez and Elizabeth Trantham, is $200, shared stipend, beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. • The initial club/activity application for the Northern Lehigh High School eSports Team. The Northern Lehigh Education Association recommended stipend for the advisers of this club, Krystle Tiedeman & Janelle Scheckler, is $200 (shared stipend) beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.
Conferences
• Allison Chruscial, Allyson DeHart, and Blasia Dunham, PASCD Emerging Leaders Academy - Virtual Sessions, Jan. 31, Feb. 28, April 3, and May 8, and in-person sessions June 20 and June 21, State College, with the cost of registration and lodging $899 each, for a total cost of about $899 each.
• Bryan Geist, Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association Conference, March 20-22, Hershey, with the cost of registration $300, lodging, $526, and travel, $$103, and meals, $50, for a total cost of about $979, to be funded through the athletics budget.
• Dr. Matthew J. Link, 2024 Leadership Forum, March 13-15, Hershey, registration, $449; lodging, $397; and meals, $100, for a total cost of about $946, to be funded through the superintendent’s professional development budget.
• Dr. Tania Stoker, 2024 PASA Leadership Forum, March 13-15, Hershey, with the cost of registration, $379, lodging, $397, travel, $105, and meals, $100, for a total cost of about $982, to be funded through the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.
• Scott Pyne, 2024 Pete&C Feb. 5-7, Hershey, with the cost of meals, $100, for a total cost of about $100, to be funded through the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.
Other business
• Agreement with Peerstar LLC to interact collaboratively to provide services and interventions. The district said there is no cost associated with this agreement.
• Resolution in support of charter school funding reform.
• Resolution in support of school board director recognition month.
