A woman was injured Thursday afternoon in a crash in Mahoning Township.

The incident occurred at noon today when the woman was traveling west on Beaver Run Road near the intersection with Packerton Dam Road.

She failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, entering the right berm traveling down into a ditch.

Members of the Mahoning Valley Fire company worked to free the woman and bring her to the roadway.

She was treated by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center.

Mahoning township police are investigating the incident.
