Infant seriously injured in Schuylkill fire

An infant was seriously injured early Friday afternoon when trapped in an upstairs bedroom of a burning Schuylkill County home. The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. as a working dwelling fire with entrapment at 260 Indiana Avenue in Shenandoah Heights. A Shenandoah police officer was the first to arrive on scene. He carried the child out of the home to medics who treated the infant before the child was flown to a trauma center. State police are investigating the fire.
