Entertainment around the area

Holiday-oriented events will fill local and regional venues over the next couple of weeks, as 2023 makes way for the new year.

In terms of pre-Christmas diversions, Jimmy and The Parrots - a Jimmy Buffet tribute act - will bring its Parrot Holiday Party to Bethlehem’s Musikfest Café. Over in Easton, the State Theatre will host The Wizards of Winter’s rock opera “The Christmas Dream.”

The annual “Messiah” Sing-In concert, meanwhile, will bring the community together at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, located in Shawnee-on-Delaware.

Looking beyond Christmas, a number of outlets will host New Year’s Eve events. Mauch Chunk Opera House welcomes retro funk-soul band Hunkajunk, while Country Junction celebrates with a kids’ party.

For the 21-and-up crowd, Wind Creek Event Center and Mount Airy Casino Resort will ring in the new year with parties in the Bethlehem and Mount Pocono areas, respectively.
