Wellbeing center opens in Franklin Township

It’s a center for wellbeing that focuses on relaxation for body, mind and soul.

Alchemy Lounge, located at 450 Interchange Road in Franklin Township, held a soft opening on Nov. 4, followed by an open house/ribbon cutting on Dec. 6.

Owner Brandy Frey said the open house was “super successful.”

“Most of the people liked the way it looked, and said it was so comforting,” Frey said. “I’m excited that they’re excited; it makes me feel that we did well.”

Frey said customers can relax in a peaceful, tranquil salt room; breathe and detox in the infrared sauna booth; or rejuvenate in the Vitality Booth with salt and red light therapy.

Other services include acupuncture; energy healing, Reiki; Halotherapy in the Salt Room or Private Salt Booths: Salt Room, Breathe & Detox Suite, Vitality Booth; massage therapy; meditation; raindrop therapy; and sound and color healing.

Frey said classes on yoga are currently available, while tai chi, and meditation will eventually be available.

She said there are three massage therapists, and noted there is artwork on display by artisans Amanda D’Agostino, and Lynn Shupp, along with her husband Martin Wambold, while Joan Lech has woodwork displayed.

Frey explained how the business came to be.

“I was really looking for a retirement investment, and I knew I always wanted to have my own business,” she said. “Ideally, I wanted it in Franklin Township, and I come from a family tradition to be self-employed.”

Before starting up her new business, Frey, who has a scientific background, said she worked in the Lehigh Valley for 25 years in the healthcare field.

Believing she would be more fulfilled working closer to family and friends, Frey decided to start up her new foray in the township.

“The opportunity presented itself,” she said. “I knew that I loved the sound healing and energy healing, and salt was something we really don’t have in the area.

“Salt is the anchor that will bring people into our doors. Then we can introduce other alternate healing modalities.”

The business is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 5 Sunday.
