State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following:

• A 36-year-old Jim Thorpe man is facing charges of harassment after police were called to a property on Bear Creek Lake Drive, Penn Forest Township, at 1 p.m. Nov. 27.

A 39-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe showed them a video of the brother yelling at her and making threatening statements toward her.

• A 41-year-old Saylorsburg woman is charged with drug possession after police were called to a residence on the Kunkletown Road, Eldred Township, at 1 p.m. Nov. 29.

They said they were called for a welfare check referencing prescription medication being missing from a hospice patient and the investigation determined the caregiver and the victim’s girlfriend were taking the narcotics.

Police said the Monroe County Probation office was contacted and the woman was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, on a detainer.

• A 22-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 25 at the intersection of Route 209 and Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was stopped in a 2018 Subaru Impreza for a motor code violation.

• Police were called to an incident of harassment at 1:51 p.m. Nov. 29 at the intersection of Bear Creek and Behrens drives in Penn Forest Township.

A man was yelling at a 55-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe.

• A 29-year-old Saylorsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence after police made a traffic stop at 6:34 p.m. Nov. 30.

He was stopped in a 2007 BMW at the intersection of Rolling Meadow Road and Spring House Road in Ross Township for a motor code violation.

• Police were called to the historic covered bridge in Lower Towamensing Town ship at 9:19 a.m. Dec. 4 for an incident there.

They said an unknown vehicle traveling north on Covered Bridge Road approached the bridge and struck the protection overhang causing three chains to break before leaving the scene.

Police said they were notified of the incident by township personnel.

• A 21-year-old Bowmanstown man was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop police made at 5:12 p.m. Nov. 27 on Route 248 in Bowmanstown.

He was stropped in a 2006 Hyundai Elantra for violations.

• A 27-year-old Lehighton man suffered a head injury in an incident that happened at the River Walk Saloon, Centre Street, Parryville, at 1:15 a.m. Dec. 2.

Police said the man was treated at the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.

They said between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 1:15 a.m. Dec. 2 the involved parties were consuming alcoholic beverages at the saloon and the man was assaulted by one of his associates.

Police arrested a 26-year-old Slatington man on charges of simple assault and harassment after the incident.

• Police said charges of driving under the influence are pending against the driver of a 2020 Dodge Ram truck that crashed at 11:14 a.m. Nov. 23 on Meixsell Valley Road in Ross Township.

They said the vehicle was westbound when the operator lost control. The vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and went into the opposite lane of travel, left the roadway and struck a tree. It came to rest in the wooded area adjacent to the eastbound lane.

Police said a man who was the sole occupant in the vehicle sustained suspected minor injuries.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. Police did not identify the suspects in these cases.
