Lansford woman dies from crash injuries

A Lansford woman has died as a result of injuries from a crash off Route 209 near Coaldale Thursday.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said Nicole Oplinger, 42, was pronounced dead at 1:28 a.m. Friday at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem.

The coroner’s office said Oplinger was the driver in a car that veered off the road and struck multiple trees at 2:50 p.m.

Route 209 was closed because of the incident.

State police at Frackville are investigating.
