One person was seriously injured Thursday evening when involved in a crash along Route 309 in Tamaqua. The accident occurred around 7 p.m. in the northbound lanes just before the intersection with Owl Creek Road. The victim was extricated from the wreckage by Tamaqua Rescue personnel then treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics. A landing zone was established on Dairy Road by West Penn and Citizens fire companies for Life Flight Six. Tamaqua police are investigating the incident. West Penn police and fire police maintained traffic control at the landing zone.
