Families in the Northern Lehigh School District struggling with meal security are in luck.
The district is again the benefactor of a $10,000 donation from the Lehigh Valley Educators Credit Union.
The donation, the same as it was last year, will go toward the district’s food program, Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link said at Monday’s school board meeting.
“I am very, very happy and appreciative that Lehigh Valley Educators Credit Union has notified us that they will be giving us another very generous donation in the amount of $10,000,” Link said. “That money will go directly toward supporting our food pantry throughout the winter months for our students here that participate in the food pantry, students and families.”
Link said that at next month’s board meeting, they will have a formal presentation “publicly thanking the credit union for their generosity to the school district for another year.”
