The Lehighton girls basketball and Northwestern wrestling teams each posted wins on Monday night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Saucon Valley

Emma Repsher’s 18-point performance sparked Lehighton to a 56-14 non-league win over Saucon Valley.

Repsher posted 11 of her game-high points in the first half, helping the Indians (1-1 overall) take a 31-7 lead into intermission. Charli McHugh scored 13 points for the winners.

Elizabeth Miller led the Panthers (0-1) with six points.

Dieruff-Pleasant Valley

In a back-and-forth contest, it was Dieruff which came from behind one last time to secure a 40-35 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pleasant Valley.

The Bears (0-3 overall) took a 12-8 first quarter lead, and then led 29-28 after three quarters of play. But the Huskies (1-0) used a 12-6 edge in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Aryn Stivala led all scorers with 23 points for Pleasant Valley.

Aniya Holder led the way for Dieruff, as she accounted for five of her team-high 12 points in the final stanza. Jayla Rosario added 11 points.

Blue Mountain-Marian

Blue Mountain pulled away from Marian for a 65-52 non-league win.

Isaac Thomas paved the way for the Eagles (1-0 overall) with a game-high 21 points. Tyeirre Meade and Aidan Grace followed with 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the winners, who outscored the Colts 24-18 in the final period after entering the final frame with a seven-point advantage.

Jacob Miller posted a team-high 18 points for Marian (1-1), while Julius Currie added 11 points.

Jonathan Panarelle led four Lions (2-1) in double figures with a team-high 14 points. Issac Sabater scored 13 points, while Nicholas Esticlla and Carlos Santana recorded 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Wreckers (0-2 overall) rallied with a 28-point fourth quarter to close the gap. Matt Adler posted 12 of his 16 points in the final quarter for Weatherly, while Corbin Wagner tied for a team-high with 16 points. Wagner netted eight of his 16 in the final stanza.

Austyn Lamonica added 13 points for the hosts.

Northwestern opened its dual meet season with a 51-21 non-league victory over visiting Panther Valley.

The Tigers (1-0 overall) made the most of its bonus points, recording six pins in the contest.

Luke Fugazzotto (189), Noah Schlofer (215), Noah Griffith (121), Kenny Kerekes (127), Trent Croll (133) and William Turner (139) all posted falls for the Tigers.

Jah Bushati posted a win for the Panthers (0-1), as the 145-pounder scored a decision in sudden victory overtime.
