Lansford man charged with assault

A Lansford man faces aggravated assault and other charges following an argument and fight last month.

Coty Lefevre, 33, of East Abbott Street, was arraigned Friday morning on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment and committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $10,000.

According to arrest papers, borough police responded to an East Abbott Street address Oct. 27 for a fight in progress. A woman at the home told them Lefevre was in a fight with her children’s father.

The man, who was covered in blood with a baseball-sized lump on his forehead, told police that he and Lefevre got into an argument, court papers said.

Lefevre pulled out brass knuckles and punched him in the face, the man told police. Lefevre then fled out the back door when police were called.

EMS was summoned for the man, who refused to go the hospital.

A preliminary hearing before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek is scheduled Dec. 13.
