State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following:

• Police said a car struck a vehicle in a parking stall of the parking lot of Weis Store, Chestnuthill Township, at 2:31 p.m. Nov. 22.

They said the driver of a 2014 Ford Escape that left the scene was identified and cited for “accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property.”

The escape struck a 2020 Ford Ranger, which sustained minor damages.

• Patricia J. Sayler, 80, of Stroudsburg, was injured in a two-vehicle mishap at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 22 at the intersection of Route 115 and Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Sonic that failed to yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out in front of a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Michelle L. Tschinkel, 40, of Cresco. She sustained “possible injuries,” police said.

Sayler was cited for the incident, police said.

• A 25-year-old Albrightsville woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 12:31 a.m. Nov. 25 at the intersection of Route 115 and the Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2012 Buick Regal that they stopped for an expired registration.

Police said she failed standard field sobriety tests, being unable to perform them as instructed, and was taken into custody.

• No one was injured in a mishap at 12:33 p.m. Nov. 23 at the intersection of the parking lot of the Wawa store and Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by James L. Gruppo, 61, of Bangor, attempted to make a right turn onto Route. 209 from the lot and struck the rear of a 2023 Dodge Challenger driven by Ronda L. Weaver, 54, of Pen Argyl.

Police said the Challenger was towed from the scene while the Cruze was able to be driven from it.

• Police were summoned to investigate a rape case at 12:57 a.m. Nov. 23 at a property on Juniper Court, Jackson Township.

They said the victim is a 20-year-old woman from Stamford, Connecticut, who reported a suspect forcibly engaged in nonconsensual sexual intercourse with her while she was staying at a rental property at the above location.
