State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks have released details on recent incidents:

• Police were summoned to investigate a ChildLine report they received from the Monroe County Office of Children and Youth Services, but they said the victim, a 9-year-old girl from Stroudsburg, and her mother did not wish to have the incident further investigated.

Police said the ChildLine report indicated on Oct. 19 the victim reported to her school guidance counselor that a suspect had exposed himself to her while they were walking home from a bus stop.

• Daniela Valle, 28, of Stroudsburg, and Lisa Valle, 59, of Piscataway, New Jersey, were issued citations for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a domestic dispute at 1:04 p.m. Oct. 27 at 413 Stony Brook Way, Jackson Township.

• A 27-year-old Wilkes-Barre man was cited for harassment after police received a report from a 64-year-old Effort man that he was threatened by the man.

Police said the victim, who resided along Journey Drive in Chestnuthill Township, came to their barracks at 7:26 p.m. Oct. 28 and reported the threat was made by telephone.

• Police were called to two cases in which victims reported being raped. The first one happened between midnight June 18 and midnight June 30 in the area of Idlewood Drive and Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township. The victim is a 16-year-old girl from Effort who said the incident happened at Chestnuthill Park.

The second one happened between 1 a.m. April 1 and midnight April 30 in the area of Redwood Drive, Penn Forest Township. The victim is a 13-year-old girl from Lake Harmony who police said they were told through the ChildLine referral that she was sexually assaulted by a peer.

• Police said a 2012 gray Ford Escape was stolen between 6-7 p.m. Oct. 31 from a property on Rising Hill Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

The victims are a Saylorsburg couple who reported the vehicle was stolen from the driveway at the residence.

• Police were called to a shoplifting incident at the Dollar General store, 1420 Route 903, Penn Forest Township, at 11:38 a.m. Oct. 19.

They said a store representative reported a suspect removed several toys worth about $50 from the store without paying for them.

• Matthew Berry, 33, of Gilbert, was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, after police were called to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, at 11:31 p.m. Nov. 1 for a reported assault.

Police said they were told the assault took place in Sun Valley, Chestnuthill Township. While conducting the investigation, police learned there is a warrant out for Berry’s arrest in New Jersey, resulting in him being taken into custody.

• A 69-year-old Saylorsburg man was cited for harassment after police were called at 4:14 p.m. Sept. 5 to an incident at South Rocky Mountain and Appalachian drives in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was cited after the investigation showed he followed two juveniles on the roadway in the neighborhood.

• Police were called to a trespassing report at 2:03 p.m. Oct. 27 at a property on Silver Maple Road, Chestnuthill Township but they said there was no evidence of a crime having taken place.

• Siwana Green, 49, of Effort, was charged with a gun violation after police were called to Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township. Police said the charge stems from her being denied the purchase of a firearm.

• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at midnight Oct. 3. A 56-year-old Brodheadsville woman reported someone damaged the brake line of her 2006 Hyundai.

• Police said about $10,000 worth of kitchen furnishings were stolen in a burglary that happened between Sept. 22 and 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at a residence on Frable Road, Chestnuthill Township.

The owner is LSF9 Master Participation Trus, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Police said someone entered the home through a rear door that was attached to the kitchen of the residence and dismantled and stole all of the contents of the kitchen.

Stolen were brown kitchen cabinets worth $5,000, a stainless steel refrigerator and a stainless steel stove, both worth $2,000, and a stainless steel microwave and a stainless steel dishwasher, both valued at $500.

The thief fled the scene in an unknown direction after exiting the residence through the garage.
